It was in the year 1946 that one of the world's most esteemed resorts was created: Courchevel. In this most glamorous resort in France, crossing paths with royal families, movie stars or famous musicians, is frequent.
You can come to Courchevel for its chic atmosphere or the endless forms of luxury from magnificent chalets in the woods, for its luxury hotels, its fashion boutiques, its hip night clubs, but moreover Courchevel offers a major reason to keep going back year after year: the incomparable quality of its ski area that gives it its reputation.
With 600 km of accessible trails thanks to 62 ski lifts, and 10,000 hectors conducive to back country skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing ballads, Courchevel sits enthroned at the summit of one of the biggest ski areas of the world, the 3 Valleys Domain (10 times bigger than Vail, the biggest ski area in the United States)!
Shared between its 3 territories, Courchevel 1850, the chic resort, Courchevel 1650 and 1550 that are more peaceful and more suitable for families and Le Praz 1300, a charming village with narrow roads, a large number of slopes are available for beginner-level skiers as is the same for the most experienced skiers, offering snow-covered slopes of exceptional quality from the beginning of December to the end of April. If the more experienced skiers are not satisfied by the black trails Les Suisses or la Saulire, they can also attempt the black trails on the Northern side of Val Thorens, which is accessible during the day.
Snowboarders will find exceptional inclines and lanes reserved only for experts and can benefit from backcountry skiing accompanied by guides.
Here, beginners, families and any skiers lacking in confidence, can learn and evolve in all security with a ZEN spirit and a light heart, thanks to dedicated wide open, well protected trails. Accessible by ski lifts, these Zones d'Evolution des Novices (Evolution Zones for Novices) provide the perfect conditions for novices! For FREE!

If you ski and would like to find an alternative to skiing for a day or half day, or if you don't ski and just want to enjoy the mountains, Courchevel also provides 17 km of marked, well-maintained paths through unspoilt countryside.
Whether by foot or with snow shoes you can set off to discover peaceful mountain scenery through the forests. Perhaps you'll come across traces of wild life in the newly-fallen snow, or maybe you'll stop off at one of the many secluded hamlets that abound in Courchevel. You can walk till Le Lac des Verdons to enjoy an exceptional sun-filled panoramic view of La Saulire and its runs. We also invite you to get a bit more acquainted with Mother Nature with the help of one of our mountain guides, away from well-beaten paths.
With the pedestrian pass, take advantage of the ski lifts to explore the highest peaks of Courchevel, and their exceptional panorama. Stop at a mountain restaurant before going back to the gondola.
