You will take your place aboard a luxurious private vehicle, which will take you to your 4* ‘hôtel-château’, located in a six hectare park in the heart of the Chantilly forest, just 25 kilometres from Roissy airport and 35 kilometres from Paris.

This historic castle was built in 1900 at the request of Baronness Jeanne de Rothschild.
In these luxurious surroundings, you can combine sport with relaxation, all while living the ‘château’ lifestyle as it was in the era of the great regal families.

In the late afternoon, perhaps you would like to spend a moment of relaxation at the covered swimming pool which is heated year-round. The sauna and Turkish bath are at your disposal for a delicious rite of purification.
In summer, you can relax in a deck chair and be soothed by the sound of birds.
Depending on your time of arrival, athletes can go by foot, bicycle, tandem or mountain bike to discover the Chantilly forest and its most remarkable site, the Etangs de Comelle, laid out by the monks of the Chaalis Abbey between 1204 and 1208, a walk that will really work up your appetite.

You will then reach restaurant Le Villargène, perpetuating the tastes and smells of the past, where you will discover subtle dishes of fish and shellfish. Don’t forget to try the famous Chantilly cream, which first appeared at the table of the Price of Condé, amazing his guests.

Detail day 2

Chantilly is certainly one of the most beautiful sites in the world devoted to horse racing. After a hearty breakfast in the wee small hours, early risers can visit the largest training centre for racehorses in Europe, this profession being the most important in the region. Over 2500 thoroughbreds walk the 200 kilometres of trails set amongst 1800 hectares of forest.

Depending on the period of your stay, you may be able to participate in one of the 24 scheduled races here. People come from all over the world to watch the prestigious races including the famous Prix du Jockey Club or the Prix de Diane Hermès.

Golf enthusiasts will find two magnificent rounds on one of the best golf courses in Europe; the Vieux Gold de Chantilly. Unveiled in 1909, it was designed by British architect Tom Simpson, responsible for creating some of the best courses in France: Monfontaine, Fontainebleu, Hossegor... Many European championships and international matches have been held on this highly strategic course which in fact presents two courses: Vineuil and Longères, both deemed to be great for players who like a bit of a challenge. The 6428 meters Vineuil course was rated 18/20 by the Peugeot Golf Guide 2009.

After your round of golf, you will visit the Château de Chantilly, a beautiful piece of French heritage, which lies at the heart of a vast 7800 hectare estate within one of the largest forests around Paris; the Massis des trois Forêts (Chantilly, Halatte, Ermenonville). Many films have been shot around Chantilly, including the James Bond film “A View to a Kill”.

This place has the unusual feature of having been passed down by heritage from 1386 to 1897 to different branches of the same family, but never actually sold. It belonged to Anne de Montmorency, comrade in arms of Francis I and Henry II, who often came to Chantilly; and then of the Bourbons-Condés, who had the gardens designed by André Lenôtre, who would later become the gardener of Versailles. Louis II of Bourbon-Condé (known as the Great Condé) turned Chantilly into a venue for fêtes and a place where a literary circle including Molière, La Fontaine, La Bryère, Madame de La Fayette and Madame de Sévigné often met. The two parallel alleys on either side of Le Nôtres borders were given the name “Allées des Philosophes” in their honour. The Great Condé held balls and fireworks displays on the enchanting site. In the 18th century, the grand château was transformed; the Grandes Ecuries (great stables) were built –a real architectural masterpiece, the apartments of the ‘Petit Château’ were decorated, and the manufacturing of Chantilly porcelain was created.
During the Revolution, the castle was razed and the park was destroyed, but restored once again in 1815 when the Bourbon-Condés designed the English Garden. The castle was bequeathed to the French Institute in 1871.

It includes one of the most beautiful museums of traditional paintings after the Louvre and a rich library of rare and precious books.
You will visit the "Grands et Petits Appartements", the French gardens, English garden, the Great Stables, recognised as the best in the world with more than 1000 paintings, sculpture and drawings by contemporary artists.

Detail day 3

After breakfast, the 18 holes of Longère will give you a chance to show off your skills. It is the oldest course of Vieux Golf de Chantilly redesigned by Tom Simpson.
Have a break for lunch at the clubhouse, which provides catering services at any time.

After your round, enjoy a moment of relaxation in your hotel. Take advantage of the sauna, Turkish bath and heated swimming pool.

Then your chauffeur will take you to the charming village of Senlis, founded more than 2000 years ago. The Romans protected the village with a great wall and thirty towers, most of which still remain. The Kings of France spent time here, and one can still see the remains of the Royal Castle. Its well-preserved heritage is exceptional: Gallo-Roman arenas, cathedrals and churches, medieval alleyways, townhouses...you will truly be enchanted.
You can dine in the restaurant that is renowned for its surroundings and its ambiance. Built in 12th century cellars, here the cooking is done over a traditional wood fire.

Fans of polo can, from April to mid-July, attend matches of the “club du Domaine de Chantilly” which is the biggest polo club in France. In September and at the beginning of October, you can attend commentated matches.

Detail day 4

After breakfast, your chauffeur will take you to Auvers sur Oise, a place of inspiration for many of the great masters of 19th century painting, such as Cézanne, Monet, Van Gogh...

You follow in the footsteps of Van Gogh by visiting his last home, preserved in its original state as a historical monument. You can reconnect with the world of the painter by visiting his 7 metre-squared room where he dried his paintings before piling them underneath his bed or in the corner cupboard. What an incredible moment to relive!

You will also visit the cemetery where Vincent Van Gogh and his brother Théo lie, the Romanesque church made famous by his brush, and many other places immortalised by the painter who, in his time in Auvers, produced more than 100 works including 70 oil paintings.

You will then head to Giverny. Impressionist Claude Monet fell so in love with the romantic little village he lived there until he died, 35 years altogether.

You will visit the pink house with green shutters in which he lived, and the garden bursting with flowers in which he created the famous “Bassin aux Nymphéas”, representing the Japanese Bridge which he painted 45 times. You will also visit the Museum of Impressionists, which houses 20 paintings by Monet.

For dinner, we can reserve one of the best tables in the region, in a traditional French restaurant, or something more exotic if you so wish.

Detail day 5

You may have chosen to extend your stay in Paris or in another equally beautiful French region. Whatever your itinerary, your chauffeur will take care of your transfer to Paris Montparnasse station or Paris, Orly or Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport.
