La Vieille Bastide is a Top Luxury old provencal bastide for rental on the Cote d'Azur that has something to tell...Located on the backcountry of Cannes, near the little magnificent village of Cabris, this incredible Bastide recently renovated with top standard and unique atmosphere is one of the most beautiful gem of provencal architecture.
From its medieval origin, the bastide has kept its typical "bastide features" like high ceilings, jalousie shutters and its tower as well as its centuries old stone walls which make up the terraces where almost one hundred olive trees are to be found.
Privacy, privacy and privacy...From the gate, a narrow road leads towards the park garden with its olive trees, century old cypresses. The 3 m high gate, the walls and fences all around the property ensure privacy and protection.
La Vieille Bastide have been delicately renovated with new "old" shutters and copper gutters/drainpipes, embedded in glycine, vines and jasmine.
Inside, the old blends well with the new with the legendary La Cornue stove, the tiles from medieval Chateauneuf du Pape and sound from B&O, the custom made cupboard from renowned carpenters de Tonge. From the third of the kitchen taps comes cold, carbonated water... The séjour principal has almost 4 meter high ceilings and a Louis XIV fireplace. Another "petit séjour" on the second floor, his a part of the Masters Bedroom suite.
There are two fully equipped laundry rooms and also a large cold room for storage of bottles and groceries in need of a frigid environment.
An elevator links the bedrooms to the kitchen and living space and the pool level.
The bastide boasts 7 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms to sleep 14 people.
Facing a vineyard bordered with lavender, clementines, oranges, grapefruits and an old fig tree, a cabanon (cottagehut) await you for relaxing evenings in the vineyard. It has its own fireplace where you in winter can taste last years harvest, have a pleasent conversation and see the moon rise. It can even be used as sleeping quarters as the cabanon possesses 7 extra sleeps.
A Guesthouse totally independent of the main building, is fully equipped. It has 3 bedrooms of which one is a children room with 3 beds. In total, the bastide can accommodate 28 people.
La Vieille Bastide offers two swimming pools, one heated 20 m and one 23 m and a large outdoor spa with room for 20 persons. The 23 meter pool surrounded by cypresses, olive trees and hanging corsican rosemarys has an extensive pool house with widescreen cinema and Bang & Olufsen sound system. The vast open pool side spaces - one of them with a 150 inch screen hidden in the ceiling, can be used for a variety of purposes. The second, 20 meter heated pool is more intended for excercise than fun.
Behind the big pool the 3 x 3 meter heated spa is visible. The spa has both air and hydro massage systems. An excellent sound system with in ground subwoofers makes a visit to the spa memorable with, in the backgrounds, Estérel mountains and Cannes bay ...
